Don’t Half Ass two things. Whole ass one thing.

Or, How to avoid burnout.

Most people decide they are going to change their life and they burn out fast. They try to do everything when they first hit the gym—intense calorie cuts, killer workouts, and a complete life overhaul. The hype is great, the motivation is there, but this “all at once” mindset? It’s a burnout waiting to happen.

Why Doing Too Much Sucks

You turn up on day one, having cut out the junk food, ready to hit the gym, but stacking calorie deficits, learning new gym moves, and trying to revamp your entire routine all at once? Not as smart as you think. You’ll overload your body and mind before you even see real progress.

Burnout hits hard with:

  • Physical fatigue: Soreness, injury, total energy drain.

  • Mental fatigue: Stressing over food and workouts makes the gym feel like a chore.

  • Zero motivation: No quick wins? You’ll feel like you’re failing.

The Fix: Do One Thing.

Instead of trying to be a superhero, focus on mastering one thing at a time. It’s less stressful, more sustainable, and actually gets you somewhere.

  1. Pick One Focus:

    • Want to get strong? Show up and master the basics.

    • Want to tweak your diet? —don’t worry about perfecting workouts yet.

  2. Be Consistent: Do your one thing. Consistency wins over complexity every time.

  3. Celebrate Small Wins: Nail that squat? Stuck to your plan for two weeks? That’s progress. Keep celebrating it.

Bottom Line: It takes time. but you can do it.

Trying to do everything will burn you out. Do one thing at a time, and you’ll build a foundation that lasts.
